The Fernando Holz Band

I’m delighted to be the pianist and sometimes arranger with the Fernando Holz Band, led by Brazilian singer/songwriter Fernando Holz. Fernando comes from Rio Grande do Sul and composes with his own distinctive sound, but in the tradition of Jobim, Ivan Lins and Djavan. The band includes José Pienasola on bass and Steve Rose on drums.

Collaboration with Vocalists

It’s my pleasure to accompany and work on arrangements with many wonderful singers, including Anna Callahan, April Hall, Fernando Holz, Joan Cleary, Beth Logan, Joy Reo, Linda Roberts, Evelyn Rosenthal, Isabel Stover, Hessie Swain and many others.

Jazzed For a Cure

Guitarist/bassist Mike Caruso started the "Jazzed for a Cure” foundation to support cancer patients at Mass General Hospital. Concerts and CD sales benefit the foundation. You can find me playing piano on all tracks on Mike Caruso’s CD “Song for Amy.” Proceeds go towards support services for cancer patients at Mass General Hospital.

Love is Like a Cigarette

I can be heard playing piano on all tracks but the last one on Linda Robert’s CD, ”Love Is Like A Cigarette.”

The Sergio Mendes Project

I worked with singers Evelyn Rosenthal and Linda Roberts in an eight-piece band, "To Sergio with Love: the Sergio Mendes Project," which featured the wonderful songs and arrangements of Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66, as well as material from other Sergio periods. The songs ranged from traditional Candomble, to compositions by the Beatles, Bacharach, Edu Lobo and Baden Powell.
